Weekending

Reading
  • Georgia, a a novel based on the life of artist Georgia O'Keeffe.  The problem with reading novels about real people - artists, royals, horticulturalists etc, is that one invariably spends a lot of time on the internet looking at the portraits, buildings, plants and other such things mentioned in the novels.  Luckily my library had an art book on Georgia O'Keeffe showing her paintings, her home and some of the many portraits taken by her lover, Alfred Stieglitz,so I am able to have a companion book with the novel.
Sewing
  •  EPP Cartwheel, - I can actually say it is finished - it just needs a good starch and press, some quilting and then it can be turned into a pillow.
  •  AMH hexi basting - so much to love: bright jewel like colours, so easy and such a portable project
Listening
Chasing Butterflies
  • well, watching them enjoy my zinnias, this one looks as though it has had a long summer
Wishing you all a fabulous week ahead.

  1. Your poor Monarch really has been battered. We live 500 metres from where tagged Monarchs are released in the Te Puna Quarry Park, so my zinnias are covered in them. I wonder why they like them so much.
Love your coloured hexies and the cushion top.

  3. Lovely EPP cartwheel, the colour combo is amazing! Will you be keeping the finished pillow or is it a present?
